So by now, folks are starting to notice that I have a thing for Crissy Armstrong images!!! This cutie is called Spring Zebra, coloured in distress inks, of course!!! The sentiment is by the talented Ann Vento and it can be found in our Stylized Notables collection. The papers are from Basic Grey's Kissing Booth collection. I also used our recently released Country Heart Die. I'm going to pop this in over at

CLP Midaway Reminder Sample

Hi there,
happy Sunday to everybody!!
I have a card to share today,
it's for our midway reminder post
over at CLP Sketches!!

Did I mention, I am perhaps the luckiest stamper alive??!?! Last year, and by that, I'm talking 2010.... I was in a Secret Santa swap and my Secret Santa sent me the most gorgeous card, an AMAZING chocolate bar and this wonderful hÄnglar stamp, which I am only just now using, shame on me!! It's been around, beckoning me for some tender lovin', so I finally gave in and made this card. It's supposed to be a Valentines Day card, looks a little Christmassy though, eh?

I've used distress inks to paint, a Nesties die for the shape, a Magnolia die for the border, K & Co. papers, and scrummy nummy flowers are a mixture of many companies. I looked to the amazing stick-pen maker Elise for reference when I put mine together, thanks for the inspiration, dear friend!! Hers are, of course, way better, lol, but you know, gotta start somewheres... I've distressed in Walnut Stain this time around and uhhh, the pearls are by Kaiser. I've also added a bit of Tim Holtz Crackle Paint to the heart and stickled the wings.

Koala Tilda

Hi there Blogging Buddies,
How is your week coming along so far?
For me, things have slowed down a bit at work,
it's been so long it feels truly weird being home before 10 pm,
definitely not complaining though!!
So with that said, I've had some extra time to tinker with my treasures and put together this card with my new Tilda that I ever-so-gratefully won from Debbie Dolphin, you can get yours at shopbron!!!

As per the usual, Tilda was painted with distress inks, I decided she needed to be 3-D'd seemed like an ideal image to do that with, so she's been layered up to 4 times, adhered with foam dots, the paper is Basic Grey (Plaid) and Little Yellow Bicycle (blue).

The border and branch die cuts are Magnolia, the leaves are a Martha Stewart punch and the shape she's adhered to is from a Nesties set. The flowers are a mix of all different sorts, and the rest of my goodies came from my well-organized (for now) stash.

And a wonky picture of the inside journaling panel,
left blank for your Thank You or Happy Birthday or Somebody Cares or whatever the case may be enscription...

Fluffy on a Lily

Hi there everybody!!
I hope everyone had a wonderful New Years celebration!!
I've been down in my "craft room" cleaning,
I got some new storage units for my birthday
that just passed, I'm kind of an odd duck in that regard,
I love sorting and organizing, "REDEFINING" my work space lol!!

Anyhoo, I was doing a bit of blog hopping, boy, things have sure slowed down here in Blogland, eh? When I stopped by the great Claudia's Blog, she got me thinking of what I could do to my McCheapy planner that I scooped up from Michaels for a dollar. I used to to so many altered projects, maybe this year, I will regain my zest?? We'll just wait and see lol!!

So I started out by painting the adorable Fluffy On A Lily stamp designed by Sylvia Zet and produced by Whimsy Stamps with distress inks, of course, and picking out some chipper papers and punches to lay on top of my planner. I've used several of the dies from our Whimsy Shapeology Collection along with lots of frilly flowers and stamen!! Fluffy doesn't seem to mind being lost in flowers and doilies....

Hugs and Kisses and Warm Winter Wishes!!

Hi there friends!!!
I have MADE a moment to come down in my craft room and create
and here is what I've put together!! I used the Sealed With a Kiss stamp by Crissy Armstrong from our November release, along with our Love Mini Tickets and our Country Heart Die by the amazing Ann Vento from this months release over at Whimsy Stamps!!

You may remember these little guys from Novembers release. Now, I sorta had an idea in mind for them to be on a Valentiney-ish card so I went ahead and took my sweet time getting this put together, sorta wintery, sorta Valentiney, it works either way!! My first project of the month, hahahahaha, yeah, you're not imagining things if you noticed my project's off-balanced, a bit of a slant going on lol!!! But once it's down, it's too late!!

The papers are Basic Grey, distressing has been done with Brushed Corduroy, the laces are from my stash and I layered the seal pups up with foam dots and stickled the snow drifts with Star Dust stickles!!

I am going to pop this in over at Sketch Saturday, The Pixie Cottage Someone Special, and hmmmm, yep!!!

So everyone who is out there bloggin!!!! Happy New Year!!! And I hope your Christmas was blessed!!!!

A little update and Koala Cuddles Tilda shout-out!!

Hiya friends,
I just wanted to pop by and give a quick update.
It's official, I have some serious health problems.
I thought I was being a hypochondriac but it turns out,
there are a multitude of reasons why I have been getting sick
so stinkin' often,
so just saying, I'm here, I'm here, slowly but surely!!!
I always hope I can pick up the pace and get back to crafting like I used to,
but I guess it's gonna be a while longer yet.

Aside from lousy health, I am quite fortunate when it comes to stamping because, now, I don't know if you've spotted this cutie out in Blogland, she's called Koala Cuddles Tilda and is designed exclusively for SHOPBRON in Australia!!! Well, Bron graciously sent the amazingly talented Debbie Dolphin an extra stamp to give away and guess who won it???? Oh yes!!!! It was me!!!!! I can't express how excited I am and how thankful I am to both Debbie and Bron!!! A blog shout-out doesn't seem like enough, ya know!!! Alas, it will have to do for now. So, dear friends, if you've been eyeing this cutie,

Let it Snow Tilda Project (she must be freezing!!)

Hi there blogger buddies!!
Been a while, hasn't it!!
I've been avoiding my housework
trying to sneak in a few more Christmas cards
before my work schedule changes for the holidays.
So I thought I'd dig a Tilda out and have some fun!!

She's not a Christmas image, I know, but I thought, hey, those sparkles could pass for snowflakes, and went to work!! I've used some yummy winter accesories from Whimsy Stamps to help Tilda get her winter overhaul, I've used a sentiment from the recently released Winter Notables by Raindrop Echo Designs, as well as the coordinating Elegant Notables Die AND the lovely Layered Snowflake Dies.

I painted in distress inks, the papers are Basic Grey, I've used my MS Doiley punch as well as the Magnolia Lace die cut, with doileys, doily die cut, etc. and lace lace lace!!! I love that with these cute lil' Maggies you don't have to restrain yourself where the girly stuff is concerned!!

Now, with that, I want to enter some challenges:

Now as you know,
Whimsy Stamps released a super sweet series of stamps this month.
Here's my last project for the release, that unfortunately,
isn't quite complete, but I thought I would share the image,
as it is ready to go, except for a little touch up around the edges of my cutting.

Alrighty, I have my project done, I got a little caught up in glittering this morning, so for those who have already been by and left the "I was here" comment, as instructed, thank you!! And for those of you just stopping by, this may look slightly familiar, eh? I had another neurotic moment while painting and felt I HAD to, yes, HAD TO repaint the image in it's intended likeness, a polar bear and a penguin!!

For my project, I used the adorable Served With Love image by the talented Crissy Armstrong, as well as our newly released Layered Snowflake Die by the amazing Ann Vento. I love it!! I just whipped it out this morning, and I can tell you, I'm not putting it away!! It cuts like a dream, even on my beat up cuttlebug plates and they are the perfect size for my 5.5x5.5 cards!!

I have an outerwear obsession, so again, we have some paper pieced hats and scarves, the papers are all Basic Grey, I painted in distress inks, and for their snow, I used Snow Writer then while it was still wet, topped it with Shaved Ice from Stampendous!!

For my project today, I used MelJen's Cozy Little Chickadee's. Let me confess a little something here, I painted them in browns and creams, as I have a kinship with those gorgeous vintage inks, and then I came down to my computer and googled Chickadee images.... and had to start over!!! With Chickadee's in the name of the stamp, my OCD required accuracy lol...

I paper pieced them some scarves, the papers are a mix of Basic Grey and Webster's Pages, the goodies are from my ever-growing stash, and that divine sentiment and die cut were released today at Whimsy, created by the talented Ann Vento!!
Now, I hope a close-up in place of my usual side-angle will do... I decided to tape the cardstock base on upside down so..... oops....

Hi there happy blogging buddies,
yes, I am still alive, but boy oh boy, barely....
Right now, we're passing a Flu Virus around my house,
we even passed it to Grandma,
so things have been slow going, and I don't like to craft when ill
for fear of residual germies lingering around.
I know that's quite unrealistic, but hey, this gal is full of quirks.

I'm also going to pop this in over at Lili Of The Valley's Creature Comforts challenge. I recently won a gift voucher for LOTV from Bearly Mine Challenges and have managed to play with one of the stamps that I picked out at long last. Thank you very much to both LOTV and Bearly Mine Challenges!!

I've painted in distress inks, the snow was topped off with a touch of stickles, I ran cotton lace and red ribbon around the card, distressed in vintage photo, added little Robin's Nest (omgosh, I am pre-coffee, what are they called....) Dew Drops?? Flowers are from my stash and I will update the paper manufacturer in a little bit....

Ok, it's time for me to get moving, get my coffee and go grocery shopping!!

Introducing Shape Easy by TLC at Whimsy Stamps and product sample!!

We are extremely excited to announce the arrival of Whimsy Stamps newest product line! Today Whimsy Stamps are launching their brand new line of templates and cut files called SHAPE EZ by TLC.

Whimsy’s very own Tammy Louise Cunliffe is the super-talented artist behind this new line, and she has designed some brilliant templates and cut files for making one-of-a-kind cards, projects, gifts, and more! These are downloadable templates and each file includes a JPG, PNG, PDF, and SVG version of the template along with how-to instructions. Each product is hand crafted and tested by artist Tammy Louise Cunliffe.

And here is my project using Tammy's wonderful poinsettia shape, along with whimsy's elegant flourish die cut and the recently released Christmas Dreaming by Crissy Armstrong.

On the poinsettia and flourishes, I've used a combination of Vintage Photo and Bundled Sage to distress with, then spritzed with Irridescent Gold Glimmer Mist and added Stardust Stickles.

For this hop we have several different prize draws. One lucky hopper will win a grand prize of a $25 gift certificate (hosted at Tammy Louise's blog). I coloured in distress inks of course, I cut out the image, distressed the image panel into the center of the image, leaving the area immediately behind the image unshaded to give a good contrast effect, the flowers are from my stash and the paper is Bo Bunny.

And here's the card that I crafted up for todays showcase!!! I've used the uber precious Little Santa Claws by Crissy Armstrong, and again, the Holiday Pennants by Raindrop Echo Designs, after spending adequate time on Ingrid's Blog studying up on how to display the pennants!!

Ihad some fun with my foam dots with this project and layered this pup up 4 times so there's some good dimension going on, and of course, I painted the image in distress inks, and not shockingly, I distressed everything in Vintage Photo.

And here's a close-up of this darling pup!!!

Wow, that was a lot!! Are you still with me? Here's my project, at long last!!
I've used several of our newly released goodies here, Crissy's Santa Clause, Raindrop Echo Designs Holiday Pendants and Holiday Mini Postage for my store-brand Shake'n'Bake can make-over project!!

I went and studied my dear friend INGRID'S BLOG for pointers on how to use the pennant stamps, as I think she uses them masterfully!! I coloured in ditress inks and adhered several fun layers of papers and laces with glues and tapes. I added Kaiser pearls and gems and there are some snowflakes in the mix as well!!

I layered a couple of postage sentiments, Santa-related ones of course, and added a holly leaf and stamen for a holiday effect!!

And here is my project featuring the newly released Winter Fairy image by Sylvia Zet, coloured in distress inks, of course and sparkled up with Star Dust Stickles!!

The papers are Echo Park (stripes) and Webster's Pages. I've cut out a hole into the center of my striped paper as sort of a frame, then centered my painted image with the rest of the card and adhered my tilted "frame" with double sided tape. After trimming the paper of the painted image, I adhered the frame to a glammed up doily and sewed around the perimeter. The ribbon has been tucked into place, while the ribbon was glued on. All distressing was achieved with a Vintage Photo ink pad.

And here's a "close-up" if you will... of the sparkling goodness that went into this project!! The snowflake brads are by The Paper Studio and sanded then covered with Picket Fence crackle and stickles, the flowers are a mix of many companies, but they were all spritzed with Iridescent Gold and stickled up, then snow glass was added. The stamen is from WOC, the holly leaf punch is Nellie Snellen and the snowflake punch is Martha Stewart.

So here is my sample created with the adorable Sweet Blossom image that I have SOOOOO wanted to colour for ages, but being digitally challenged, I had refrained from getting this image in the past!!! Well, gone are the days of depravation, because, AWESOME!!!! Sylvia Zet is now in rubber!!! WOOOOO!!!!!

I painted in distress inks and added Stardust Stickles to the flowers and twiddly bits, I've also used our recently released Vine Die Cuts, I used the smaller of the two and added a touch of Vintage Photo distressing, and once again, Stardust Stickles on the twiddly bits. The papers are a mix of Prima (both florals) and some BoBunny Christmas paper, works no matter what, I say!! Some flowers, stamen, gorgeous doilies, Kaiser pearls, yummy lace, and the faithful MS doily punch, some sewing to finish, and done.

So here is a little Ode To Autumn, Hallowe'eny creation, I've coloured in distress inks and watercolour pencils, added Raindrop Echo's fabulous flourishes around the edges of my oval, added gold Smooch and Stardust stickles to the flourishes, that papers are a mix of Echo Park and Graphic 45, things were distressed in Vintage Photo. And as for my creation, well, it's raring to go but my internet is on the fritz. Alright, back in action and with better pix!! I've used one of the newly released Kenny K designs as well as some of Ann's flourishes to create this card. I've painted with distress inks and her shadowing is done with a Prismacolour marker. The papers are K & Co and things have been distressed in Vintage Photo. I am kinda unsure that my love of vintage and these images go hand in hand, but hey, maybe they do?

Also, this is my slightly late sample for CLP's reminder post. I absolutely lost track of the days and once I realized how late I was, just went for the 2-fer sample rather than 2 separate posts!! The good news is, I have my LOTV image coloured up and raring to go for a future project, that's the lovely company sponsoring us at CLP this month :)

Sweet little Something Sarah Kay creation!!

Hello Blogland!!!
How have you been these days?
Are your kids back in school yet?
I sent my little buddy to his first day of preschool today!!
So bittersweet!!! I hope he's loving every minute of it!!

I'm having a hard time making cards lately.
Finally, I have one to share, but it took no less than
a week to get it finished and photographed,
so at long last, here's a card I made using a Sarah Kay image:

I've painted the image with distress ink pads and placed little sprinklings of glitter in the flowers, is that foxglove?

The flowers are a mix of Prima and Wold Orchid Craft goods and I put a little stardust stickles on them also.
The sentiment is by Stampin' Up and I used a nesties die to make the shape for the faux tag.

The papers used are hmmmm..... let's see, plaid is Echo Park, floral is K & Co and the spots are 3 bugs in a rug. And of course, no project seems complete without a little bit of Martha Stewart doily punch action!! The cards base is Kraft cardstock.

It's beginning to look a lot like Whimsy Christmas!!

Hello there blogging buddies!!!
I hope you had a wonderful weekend!!!
Still blazing hot out here in the Central Plains of Kansas,
so I thought I would distract myself
with a little Christmas project!!

These cuties are called Starry Night, it's an image illustrated for Whimsy Stamps by Crissy Armstrong!!! I've added the perfect compliment to this starry scene, Winter Letter Seals by Ann Vento!!

I painted these cuties with distress inks and added a bit of stickles to the stars and some fun glass to the snow for a crystal effect!!

Some coordinating charms, a nice Christmassy bow and lots of lace and a doily, and there ya go, it's like a present for a present!!

And here is the area for a message or greeting on my weird faux tent card creation!!

Beary Sweet LOTV creation!!

Happy Tuesday everybody!!!
I hope your weekends were lovely.
Our hot weather is back with a vengeance
so I guess there's only one thing for me to do....
Hide out in my craft space!!

I put together this little cutie after shamefully acknowledging my pile of unused Lili of the Valley stamps, they're so stinkin' cute, I'm not sure how I've been able to avoid them for sooooo looooong!!!

So I went to work with my distress ink pads and painted this image up, it's called "Hello Gorgeous." I took a shot in the dark with colouring the dresser and things, I wasn't sure what was wall and what was furniture, but I think I got it right...

I've used October Afternoon spotty paper and Prima floral papers along with lots of glimmered-up flowers and stamen, a touch of pearls, some glitter, distressing is done in Vintage Photo, lace and other goodies are from my stash.

The sentiment I've used is designed by Raindrop Echo for Whimsy Stamps and is from the Magical Mini Letter Seals sentiment set!!

And here's the inside, left open for a personal greeting!!

Fuzzy Wuzzy Shaped Card, first Christmas card of the year!!

Hi there blogging buddies!!
Today's our reminder post for our current challenge at
The Fuzzy Wuzzy Challenges
which happens to be SHAPED CARDS,
so I prepared this sample, featuring a lovely
Lili Of The Valley stamp, and guess what,

I just finally have the chance to play with them,

Well, there's not much to tell about this one!! I've used Doily Nesties to create my circle easel card, the paper is MME and I've painted with distress inks. The snow was built up with Snow Writer by Deco Art and then stickled just slightly to add that glimmer that sun hitting the snow would bring!! The sentiment is from a set made by Raindrop Echo Designs for Tickled Pink Stamps.

Whimsy Stamps August Release Reveal with CLP's marvelous sketch!!

as you likely are already aware,
Whimsy Stamps
has released their August designs already,
and the Design Team have been showcasing the images
for the past few days!!

Oh, how I love these colours!! The papers are Crafts Secrets, the image has been painted lightly with distress inks and then gone over with prisma pencils, distressing done in Brushed Corduroy, with a fair splash of glimmer mist and stickles.

Whimsy August Release Day 2!!!

Hi there Blogger friends!!

On August 10th, Whimsy Stamps released our August Rubber Designs and new dies. From then until August 16th, the Whimsy Stamps DT are showcasing these 15 fabulous new stamps and 3 new Shapeology dies in the lead up to our new release blog hop on August 17th.

Today, I have a card to share using the newly released Wedding Garter image by Kenny K, along with the gorgeous tail of our newly released Elegant Butterflies die cuts designed by Raindrop Echo Designs!

This card was made for my dear husband, it was our 3rd wedding anniversary this past Sunday, so when I saw this image, and what with it looking JUST LIKE ME (hahahahahahahaha, yeah right!! I wish!!) I knew I could make something for the occasion. I coloured in distress inks, the papers are K and Company and the flowers, I tried not to go OTT with them, as this is for a MAN, so I settled on a blue colour palette and very little flowers. I used the end of our Butterfly Flourish die as foliage. I wanted to include the butterfly, of course!! But again, tried to go with a masculine elegance, if there is such a thing, so the die pulled double duty as a flourish!!

So that's all for now folks,
with any luck, I will get to do some painting for
the next sneak peak today!!

Everything's better with a friend and Whimsy News!!

Hi there Whimsy Fans,
Stephanne here to share with you all a project I made
with some Whimsy goodness!!

I've used the adorable Valerie and Kitty Sitting Pretty stamp by Crissy Armstrong and I have them sort of leaning up against this snazzy Garden Fence by MelJen Designs!!!

I masked the two images together and painted with distress inks. The papers are a mix of Pink Paislee (spots) and K & Co (floral), papers have been distressed with Vintage Photo and the edges have all been sewn to give a finished look. The butterfly punch is Martha Stewart and I added a bit of stickles to their wings and Liquid Pearls to their bodies. The other goodies on the card are from my stash.

And here's the back of the easel card, with a little Made With Love action there@!!

Tilda is out for a leisurely stroll!!

Hi there folks,
hot enough for ya?
Well, it is definitely scorching in Kansas this summer,
got me cooped up in the house trying to NOT get burnt,
so I took advantage and made a card!!

I used this sweet lil Tilda from last years wedding collection that just now, finally, after over a year, got to get inked up (sorry Tilda), she's painted in distress inks with a bit of stickles here and there, the papers are K & Co. and there are several dies here, one is the doiley Magnolia border, a doiley oval Nesties and the swirls are Sissix, the flowers and stamen are from my stash, I think mostly WOC? Who knows anymore. Distressing done in Vintage Photo and papers were sewn to give a finished look.

Here on the bottom portion, it's the same scenario, all the same materials used, just waiting for your personal inscription, with the addition of Kaiser brads.

I've also used the Vintage Postcard background stamp in place of designer paper on the bottom of my card, the rest of the paper is Pink Paislee and K & Co. I've coloured the Sarah Kay image in distress inks and given her an everyday makeover (she's a Christmas image) by adding FlowerSoft to the holly berries and grass to the ground.

For my pullout tag, I've used the whimsy shapeology Double Scallop Tag Die and stamped a couple of cancellations from the mini postage set on it.

I tell ya, 100 degrees days, high humidity,
when will Kansas catch a break!!!?

Well, I've put together the ultimate multi-task project here,

I've used the new Vintage Bottle Labels by Raindrop Echo Design, and if you fancy a look at some of the amazing samples by the other DT gals, head on over to the Whimsy Inspirations Blog!! You can see the sketch for reference in my sidebar or just head on over to CLP to get in on the fun!! For my main image, I've used Susie With Pie made by Marina Neira of The Stamping Bazaar. The papers are Magnolia, I've coloured in distress inks, there are too many punches to name, but I made those little berries by cutting out little circles, colouring them in with sky blue promarker, then distressing them with Chipped Sapphire, adding highlight with a white gel pen and adding a stem with an EK Success fern punch, cutting back the fern to resemble leaves. Yummy, I'd like a slice of that pie!!

Wee Snippet comes out to play!!

Hi there everybloggybody,
I hope everyone is staying cool this summer!!!
And YAY!!!!! My internet is back up, thank goodness!!!
It must have taken the holiday off.....
I had a chance to play with my stamps this weekend
and put together this creation in honour
of all of the critters and flutterflies in my area as of late!!

I've used the adorable Wee Snippet image by the amazing Crissy Armstrong along with a sentiment by Raindrop Echo Designs from the Postage Stamp Sentiments Set. Also, Whimsy's having a Digi Stamp Sale this month, so if there's some images you've been drooling over, now's a good time to go shopping!!!

The image is coloured with distress inks, distressing courtesy of the Bundled Sage pad, the added butterflies are a Martha Stewart punch, glitteration done with StarDust and a clear Copic Spica pen. The paper is by K & Co. and I added Distress Crackle in picket fence for a little rustic charm.

Whimsy Sneak Peeks, MelJen's Sick Little Bear

Today at Whimsy Inspirations,
we are previewing another artist who
will soon be releasing some super cute rubber stamps.
Today, we're showing MelJens images
and I have used Sick Little Bear for my card.

I painted with distress inks, the paper is Basic Grey, I also used a sentiment from Raindrop Echo's recently released Welcome Baby Sentiments, I hope it's not too disturbing and vivid a sentiment to go with sick little bear, lol!! In addition, I used the Double Scallop Border Die and lots of lacey bits from my stash. I was going for a vintage Candy-Stipers look here.

I used the sketch from The Pixie Cottage for this creation.

Hello stamping friends,
I hope everyone had a great weekend!!
I finished a card up this morning.
Looks like Tilda had an incident with the bronzer....

So, obviously, this is my first attempt at colouring (with pencils) on kraft, and uhhhh, ummmmm..... There's plenty that's good about it, but skin, I don't know if I succeeded where skin is concerned, and seeing as that is our largest organ, that's a problem, lol!! I've used one of last years Tilda's atop of a recently released background stamp by Melissa Jenkins for Whimsy Stamps called Fairy Toadstools along with a seal from the Magical Mini Letter Seals created by Ann Vento of Raindrop Echo Designs. The papers are a mix of MME (stripes) Prima (floral) and I think the plaid is K & Co. but I am not sure. The flowers are from my stash, with the addition of an EK Success Fern punch, the shape is a Nesties, and of course, the Magnolia doily die cut got to come out for a play as well.

I'm going to pop this in at the following challenges:

Whimsy Sneak Peeks, Day 4 and another toddler incident

Today is Artist's Choice Preview Day

so I am blogging what should have gone up last Friday
(that I couldn't get up for the life of me,

I painted in distress inks.... I had stamped out 4 images to work on a couple Saturdays ago, and I put the finishing touches on them, then scurried down to the basement to switch the laundry around. That was MORE than enough time for the MJ bunbun to get a make-over!!! So I, I I I, I pieced another head over the pink streaked one, hehe. Can't trust 'em, not even for a minute!!!

Whimsy MelJen Sneak Peek!!

Firstly, sorry to my Whimsy pals for being tardy, I am on Pacific Time I guess. Got caught on the 405.... Yeah, no.... Just late. With Blogger doing the things that it's been doing to us all lately, I didn't even try to schedule my post.

Ok, on with the show. Today, over at Whimsy Stamps, we are showing some sneak peeks of this months release!!! Todays featured artist is Melissa Jenkins!! Please stop by Whimsy Inspirations blog for a list of all who participated in todays sneaks!!

So I have created with the soon to be released Happy Little Knome, as well as the Fairy Toadstools from last months release!! They are coloured in Prisma Pencils and I cut out the the knome and popped him up on foam dots for dimension. I have also used a mini seal from the soon to be released MAGICAL MINI SEALS by Ann Vento, find her work for Whimsy HERE

The paper is Magnolia, I added a couple of flowers, some jute and grosgain and yep, that's about it on this one. Some Distress Crackle on the edge of the paper that wasn't already worn-looking...

I better get going, late, and lacking spare time, such is the way of things these days!!

TPS Bloghop Featuring Evie Updated

Hi there, I'll bet you're looking for the TPS Blog Hop, aren't ya? And you hopped over from Louise's, didn't ya?

So, pretend there's a project here, I know, this is incredibly tacky, isn't it.....
I wil have something up soon, I'm having some technical difficulties in the way of a toddler dropping my camera on our sidewalk yesterday, so wish me luck, lol!!

Ok, so you can see that I am back in action here. I sort of man handled the camera back into form, it had just seperated luckily, it actually snapped right back into place. Alas, it would not work!! What could it be? Some internal mechanism? No.... the batteries..... Little Buddy took off with my rechargeables and left me with some random ones he found somewhere, someplace.... Now, where are MY batteries!??? I tell ya, I can't have my back turned to him for more than 10 seconds without him getting into something!! That is why, I must craft in the dead of night....

So I made this card with the newly released Evie from the Lil Victorian Steampunk release, illustrated by Christina Dee for Tickled Pink Stamps, she's coloured in Prisma Pencils, stamped in Sepia, the paper is Bo Bunny and the text paper is by Tim Holtz, the rest is treasure from my stash.

So, are you at all curious what the little fellow DOES with moms camera when he gets his grubby little mits on it? Well, let me show you!!

or maybe it was Day 2, but nevertheless,

Hello hello hello, how was everybunny's weekends? Fabulous I hope!! It's my turn to post a project on the Whimsy Inspirations blog, and this is what it is!!

Inspired by Emma's gorgeously layered creations, I am, at long last, making a corner bookmark, check out Beate's Tutorial for the how-to's!! I used Meljen, for Whimsy Stamps, Spring Sitter Bunny, painted with distress inks, then I cut the image out and actually distressed it... I've never done that before but I rather like the effect. The paper is K & Co. and the other goodies are from my stash, the punch used is Martha Stewart.

I had some fun sprucing up the back of the bookmark as well, using the Life Defined background by Raindrop Echo Designs on a piece of paper that I distressed.

Have you ever had an idea come together in your head, and once you get to playing with your papers, it looks even better than you thought it would??? Unfortunately, you can't see much of it, due to the slathering of flowers.

I've used K & Co. papers and an assortment of flowers that include Prima, Wild Orchid Crafts and stamen from Wilton.
I'll pop this in at Colour Create where the colours are brown, pink and blue, I hope my tealy blue will work?

Easter Treat Boxes

Hello friends,
how was your weekend??
I set out to make some altered boxes for Easter treats
to enter into the
Magnolia-Licious Easter-Spring Eggstravaganza Contest
and sadly, it has taken me about 3 weeks
to finally get these boxes together!!
You know what though, I am just grateful to have gotten
ANYTHING extra done with life being as hectic as it is lately.

So, they started out as little one dollar picture boxes from Michaels. I painted them with Distress Crackle Paint in Picket Fence, and measured and Modge Podged in some Crafty Secrets plaid paper. I removed the picture panels so that the glass is now a Peep-hole, but will send these with the picture panel so that the recipient may place a photo in there after the candy is gone.

Here are the tops, decorated with some Magnolia images and various floral bits and bobs.

And here are the sides, I used Tacky Glue to adhere various ribbons to my boxes.

And here are the insides, after the modge podge treatment. This picture was taken a few days ago. I wanted to make sure the podge had plenty of time to dry before sticking candy for my loved ones in there!!

This one has little Hoppy from last years Hoppy Easter release, along with a blue bird, and what's in there, I hear you asking? Cadbury Mini Eggs!!

And here we have the little accesory Blue Birds that I am SOOOOOO thrilled to have, and inside? Robin Eggs, of course!!

Sooooooo, I will go ahead and pop this in over at Magnolia Down Unda as they are having an Easter Challenge, and I, I uhhh, guess that's it? Yeah, that's it!!

The dimensions of these cards I've been making are 4.5 x 4.5 and 4 x 5, good little notecard style size, and it really sets the images off well!!

Whimsy Stamps Sneak Peeks DAY 5!!

Happy Tuesday Everyone!! Over the last few days, the Whimsy team, have been sharing lots of inspiration or sneak peaks using the new rubber images for our April release!! This release includes images or sentiments by the uber talented Crissy Armstrong, Melissa Jenkins (Meljens), Kenny K and Ann Vento of Raindrop Echo Designs!

This is our final day of sneak peaks before the Release tomorrow at 12 p.m. EST!!!! Today our Whimsy Designers will be sharing sneak peeks of some of the new April release stamps from all our designers!!!

A foxy Distress Ink how-to

Hi there Pink Fans,
Stephanne here, and I am going to show you something furry and fun today!!
I've gotten quite a few inquiries about the colours I use to colour our latest and greatest additions to the Tickled Pink family,
Sir Rupert and Emilio, so me and my best cousin for life Kristen have prepared a small photo tutorial
so you can see how I am layering the colours onto my image!! And hopefully, what I show you will help you feel confident that you too, can get a little foxy, hehehe!!

I have gathered my supplies: Lil Allsorts Emilio, stamped with Black Archival Ink, onto Gina K heavyweight paper, I have my Tea Dye Reinker and distressing pads, a fine and broad paintbrush, and a few Prismacolour pencils that I've found blend quite well with my red fox fuzziness, Dark Brown, Sienna Brown and Burnt Ochre.

To start, I add a couple of drops of reinker into the lid of my tea dye pad

Next, I pick up a small amount of water into my broad brush, enough to moisten the bristles but not sopping wet amounts, and apply it to the area in which I will paint. I am using a E67 Filbert brush for this.

Next, with my moistened (but not wet) brush, I pick up ink from my reinker puddle and apply it to a crease in the image. You'll want to begin application in the areas that you want to emphasize shadowing, and brush the colour outward.

I slowly brush the colour outward in small circular motions

As you move the ink throughout the image, the colour will slowly fade out. This is, indeed, the goal.

At this point, I have added more ink to my brush and am applying it, again, to an area that I want to emphasize with shadowing, and will brush the colour outward in small circular strokes (like writing in cursive) until I complete the shading process.

More spreading and blending....

At this point, I have added just a teeny bit of water to my brush to encourage blending as I daub and brush the colour around the image.

Here is my first layering of colour, which is still wet in some areas, so I allow several minutes to pass before I move onto additional shading.

Now, I will start some additional shading, so I have switched over to my E85 round brush and wet it, pick up reinker and lots of it, and apply, once again, to the areas you wish to draw emphasis to with shadowing.

After applying the ink to my image, I daub it outward, and sort of glide it around until the lines of demarcation appear to be blended.

I allow my image to dry at this point. A few minutes will suffice.

I pick up my dark brown pencil and apply it to the corners of my image, again, where the shadow is to be concentrated.

After I add a bit of Dark Brown, I add Sienna Brown and blend the darker colour into the lighter.

I also use my Sienna Brown to add a little bit of additional shadowing here and there, like behind the ears and in the side bushy cheekness.

Like so......

Now, I know it's sloppy, and I haven't finished colouring his ears and eyes, but I hope that this will give you a general idea of techniques and products I use when colouring with distress inks!!!

Hello everybody,
how was your weekend?
Get any good crafting under your belts?
Me, I can't complain, I finished up a couple cards
and went to Michaels and bought a big egg
for an upcoming project.
Oh, and did some grocery shopping, boo!!!
This is one I finished up last night:

I've got that Magnolia itch!!! Their Easter images are just the sweetest things to grace this planet, and boy oh boy, they are a dream to colour up!! So I used Tilda with Lamb from last years Hoppy Easter release and a Chasing Butterflies background, along with Magnolia paper from the Yummy for your Tummy collection. I cut the background out with an oval Nesties and placed it on a fabric doily and cut Tilda and her friend out and placed them out in the front of the hilltop.

The flowers are a mix of Prima and WOC, the gem stems are from The Dollar Tree and of course, you spotted that Doohickey vine there. The butterflies were made using a Martha Stewart punch, and they've got little globs of Liquid Pearls in their centers. The lace and ribbon are from my stash.

For my sentiment, I used one of these great Postage Stamp sentiments with coordinating Shapeology die cut from Whimsy Stamps by the amazing Ann Vento of Raindrop Echo Designs. I stamped it onto Kraft paper, cut it out, distressed it, wrinkled it and popped a stark white butterfly on it!! Just a little bit of earthy brown to bring us back in from the clouds.

I created this Billfold Card, hahaha, get it, BILL-fold, ahahahaha!!! No? Okay, sorry. I made this creation using both the Little Puddle Duckling and the Rainy Day Duckling, along with the new Spring Letter Seals by the amazing Ann of Raindrop Echo Designs!! I also used our new lace die cut, which, I know you can't see a whole lot of, but I cut out two of them, attached them with some yummilicious lace in the middle, and voila!!

About a year and a half ago, I gave into temptation and bought my first Magnolia stamp, which, naturally, was Tilda with Kitten, and since then, well, I have fallen in love, like so many of us out there have. Shortly after my enrapture, I was asked by the amazing Kellie Winnell to join her Australian Army of talent over at MDUC, becoming their Adopted Aussie, and giving incentive to an evergrowing Maggie addiction!! Sir Rupert Fox-A-Lot was designed by Christina Dee for TPS, woohoooooO!!!!! He was coloured in distress inks and for that lovely foxie fur, I used Tea Dye reinker, and intensified some areas of his fur in pencil, Sienna Brown and Burnt Ochre!! The sentiment and die cut shape are by RainDrop Echo Designs for Tickled Pink Stamps and you can find our selection HERE

I got the idea for this Sleeve card from one of the amazing Sue Drees's BSS Monday Inspirations posts. I stuffed some tea in there, a little something, just because!!

CLP March Sketch Plays Dress Up with Whimsy Accesories

Hi my sweet stamping friends,
Thank you all that have been sweet enough to stop by
and leave me well wishes.
It sure is a pleasant distraction to read your kind words.

At CLP Challenges, the amazing Chelsea Le
makes these outstanding sketches for us to create with,
there's a new sketch up on the first day of the month,
so uhhh, yes, I am late,
but maybe just a reminder, rather, hehe.

How do you like those stamp stamps by Whimsy Stamps??
Yes, stamps of stamps, with coordinating cancellations
and a snazzy die cut that works like a dream!!
I find they add the perfect touch to projects,
and here's something I created using those snazzy
stamp stamps, as well as the glorious
Life Defined background stamp, find it HERE

I think that sentiments and background stamps
are a little too under-rated!!!
I am particularly fond of our background stamps,
designed by the amazing Ann Vento of
Raindrop Echo Designs,
they give such a lovely effect,
you can keep it clean and crisp,
or wrinkle and distress it,
either way, it adds a nice touch to your project.

I coloured with pencils then used some dizzying thinner to blend,
and the papers are Graphic 45 (stripes) and Basic Grey (spots),
the punch is by Martha Stewart and the flowers are a vast assortment
we crafters simply refer to as stash.
