CLP Mid-Month Reminder sponsored by Pretty LIttle Stamps

Hi and welcome to my blog!!
Tonight I have a project for our mid month reminder over at
CLP Challenges!!!
We are ever so lucky to get to work with Chelsea's
recently relaunched Gurlee Girls, though they have undergone a name change,
they are now part of her own Pretty Little Stamps collection,
please pop by HERE to take a looksie at the other adorable characters available!!
And big thanks to Chelsea for letting us play with them!!

So here is my problem: my new overly fancy printer doesn't do digi's. Nope, it just wont let me color them no matter my trials and tribulations. So what I did was, washed it!! I read that somewhere, some time ago, not sure where, but thought, hey, I'll give it a go. And so, the "effect" if you will, that you see on my image, is me rinsing off the top layer of ink and then painting with distress ink pads.

The papers are Basic Grey and the top print is Melissa Frances. The stuff on the card is mostly stash stuff, laces, doilies, rick rack, the flowers are a mixture of I Am Roses and Wild Orchid Crafts. Distressing was done in Walnut Stain, scuffed up with scissors and the papers are sewn.

Welp, thanks for stopping by!! Hope you had a wonderful Valentines Day, or as my son will tell you, Happy Valenstime's Day!!

hugs, stephanne

So cute! Love the image and your coloring and the washed effect looks great! Too bad your printer doesn't do digi's! Maybe when the ink cartridge is empty you can try a different cartridge or something? Love the cute flowers! I have a birthday candy on my blog btw! Hugs, Hanneke

Really beautiful. We were always told at Art school if you didn't like your painting to give it a wash. A great idea to wash the print before colouring - gorgeous! Cheers Claire x
