MMSC16 plays along with Tilda and her pup

Hello to you!!
I hope your weekend is off to a good start!!
I have finally completed my entry for
this months Just Magnolia Too challenge,
which was based off of a wonderful
3-D Tutorial from the amazing Debby,
whose got a wonderful gift for 3-D creations,
you must go take a look!!

So what's next?
To see if I can match up some other challenges
to go along with the project.
Well, why not the Delicious Divas Colour Challenge?
To be honest, I had a VERY hard time with it...
Now that it's done, I am pleased overall,
but wow, not really my range of colours I guess.
Had to find a savvy sketch to play with,
and here's where the
Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge
came to save the day.
They are so much fun to play with,
such great inspiration and their team
leaves the most thoughtful, sincere comments,
I want to come back week after week,
let's hope that happens!!

As I was accessorizing my card,
lurking around for specific challenges,
I saw that Just Magnolia
is hosting a Ribbons and Bows challenge,
not hard for me, as I love to layer on the ribbons,
so I got to play along over there as well!!

I've used a Magnolia stamp, Tilda with Puppy,
coloured with watercolour pencils,
distressed in Tattered Rose,
layered and layered and layered
my image in various spots
with foam dots and glue,
her shoes are Basic Grey,
the background paper is K & Company,
the floral runner paper is Making Memories,
flowers are Prima, and miscellaneous,
I've glimmer misted them,
the rest is stash stuff,
and here are the challenges I used.... again....

Now, to post this before I miss the cutoff!!

Dexter has a romp over at PaperPlay

Hello to you!!!
Please don't groan,
but I have yet another box to share.
This has been an undertaking,
not because it's a difficult project,
but because I have been flustered,
I guess, in other words,
the mojo has left the building.

I've used the wonderful Motivet stamp,
Dexter with Present,
the papers are MME and BG,
the added present is a Jolee's sticker,
ribbons, grommets and "fibre" are from my stash.
I've coloured with watercolour pencils
and distress inks.
There is this little twinkle in Dexter's eye
that I placed a bit of Stickles in,
and I've glazed his nose, eyes and teeth.
The ribbon around Dexter's present has been
Smooched with Gold Flame,
although I don't think the picture picks that up.

I've played along with Mandy's sketch over at
PaperPlay Challenges
It was fun to use and I really liked
the ribbon for this particular project.
I've kind of moved the 2 elements near
the bottom of the sketch and used a
candy from the stamp and a present in their place.

Well, I better get this posted
so I don't miss the cut-off!!
Thanks for looking!!

To the apple of my pie...

Good Sunday/Monday to you!!
I've been whipping up a birthday card for my hubby
who will hitting the big Three-O this weekend,
and I am finally ready to post it.
I have been battling with the photos I've taken
for a while, and have decided to
give them to you unadulterated,
as editing these colours has been a wreck.
Do you like my ho-hum insignia?
Don't laugh... I like it!!

I've been playing with some of the
most fabulous images my blogger buddy Sue
stamped up for me.
I've got intense Tilda curiousities
and a very VERY limited supply.
Try 2...
So she sent me some images to play with,
and I am certainly enjoying them,
as you can see, Thanks Sue!!
So this is for my honey love buns,
he certainly covets pastries,
so I felt I could away with this image
for a MAN'S card if
I used some neutral papers with it.

I've used some delicious My Minds Eye papers,
coloured with watercolour pencils,
added Liquid Pearls (pewter) to the pie tin,
Waterfall stickles to the wings,
distressing in frayed burlap and weathered wood,
also gone around the edges with brushed curdoroy,
a little bit of white Sakura gel pen for highlights,
Basic Grey buttons and fibre,
stash lace and ribbon
(I get to stick lace on there because my
honeysugarlovecakes appreciates a vintage flair)
and the sentiment is from the amazing
Inkadinkado Brenda Walton clear pack.
On the inside, I've added
"To the Apple of my Pie"
Mahahaha, you get it, Pie, not eye, lol.
Yes, I have too much time on my hands...
I have played with Rach's fabulous sketch:

And here's where I've played along:
Just MagnoliaRach's sketch
Stamp SomethingBirthday Somethings
Pile It OnGood things come in 3's
3 papers, 3 buttons and a birthday
divisable and a multiple of said number, haha.

Thanks for visiting my project.
I hope you'll leave me your thoughts
and pointers and constructive critisms,
you know I am new to the
wonderful world of mouthless stamps...
maybe you have some helpful hints??

Enjoy your week,
Stephanne

MMSC15 helps me create a face for a template

Hello to you!!!
Hope all is well in your corner of the world.
It's been humid and wet in my area,
though the temperatures have been lower,
so I've been able to play outside a bit,
today I took my tot to the park
and pointed out the butterflies.
The monarchs are starting to arrive, yay!!
Between the kids going back to school,
my stepdaughters birthday,
my neighbors kitchen plumbing
backing up into my apartment
and regular ol' busy work,
not to mention work work,
my crafting time has been limited,
but at long last, something to share:

I have used the template over at Create4Fun
to make this gift bag for my
mom and stepdad's anniversary
that is creeping up on us as we speak.
I did not get to play with
Truly Scrumptious last forntight,
and it's a shame on my part,
as the sketch was gorgeous, but this time around
the challenge is Anything but a card
and I think this will do the trick,
I still want to have a go with the sketch though,
soon I hope....
I got a real treat in the mail this Monday
and I've been itching to play with my new treasures
that Jorunn sent me, and this is my first project
debuting the Hanglar and Stanglar stamps she sent.
I am her 100th follower, as it happens,
so she spoilt me with some candy
and an amazing card featuring Hilda from Motivet.
Just gorgeous and such a pick-me-up
after the weekend I experienced.
Jorunn, thank you so much!!
Although this might have given me a thirst
I can't quite quench, as H&S is hard to come by
and I loved loved LOVED colouring these cuties!!
So, a warning of sorts,
there will be lots of sweet repeats
with these precious stamps in the future.

So we've covered image and template,
now let's talk papers and stash.
The papers are My Minds Eye,
I've coloured with watercolours pencils
and distressed in frayed burlap,
there is Crystal lacquer over the heart, key and shoes,
and I went a little nuts with the Sakura gel pen...
The lace, hemp, ribbon & charm are from my stash,
the buttons & brad are BG,
woohoo, that means I get to play over at
ABC Challenge because B is for Buttons!!!
Flowers are Prima and Scrappers Choice,
(I might add some punched fern leaves, still debating)
and I've used the scrum-nummy sketch from the
Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge
as the face for my project:

I hope you will have some time to check out
what these super talented Design Teams
have created to inspire us,
some incredible works out there.

Thanks for spending time with me today,
I appreciate your time and the effort it must
have taken to read this short story, lol.
Take Care and enjoy your weekend,
Stephanne

Simple pleasures are lifes greatest treasures...

Hello out there!!
Hope you Monday is a glorious one.
I've tried to take some photos of my latest creation,
but it is gloomy and overcast
and I can't get a good picture to save my life,
so these puppies are going to have to work!!
Somewhere in the middle of these 2 pictures
lays the true colours of this project.
I may try again tomorrow and swap out the pictures...

I have used the sketch over at Basic Grey Challenges,
they are relaunching the challenge blog,
so thought I would have a go at their lovvely sketch.
On the Stampavie DT Blog, they've asked us
to create a summer (fun) card.
At Stamp Something the challenge is to create
'Something from Summer Vacation,'
At ABC Challenge the challenge this week is:
A is for Anything Goes,
with the option of adding animals,
and The Pink Elephant is
also hosting a Summer themed challenge.
Well, okay, I can do that!!

Now, why does this strike me as summery and how is it that this envokes summer vacation memories? Well, this summer my little family took a trip to Colorado, and really, I am just going to streamline this for you, we traveled up to the top of Pikes Peak, as well as the Rocky Mountain National Monument, as high as they allow you to travel by vehicle anyway, and amounst those wonderful travels, there were critters galore!!! Marmots, chipmunks, squirrels, deer, elk, we even saw a moose and a fox!! Well, my hubby let me have a peaceful moment alone on top of a rock that we'd hiked to, and this is what I must have looked like,at least it's how I felt; happy, serene, surrounded by great beauty and life, oh, what a wonderful feeling it was. Inside my card it says, "Are lifes greatest treasures."It is my first summer not going home to California, it is strange and hard to cope with that, but I am a big girl now and need to move on with my life, so, no California. The state is haunted for me anyway. Besides, Colorado is right next door!!! This summer vacation was a personal accomplishment on many levels. Sitting peacefully amounst the wildlife and flowers was just one small part of the experience.

Cruddy pictures aside, I am happy with the outcome of this card.
I kinda want to keep it for myself!!
I've used Basic Grey Urban Prairie and Wisteria DP,
Basic Grey Sultry fiber,
lots of sanding and ripping,
I've coloured with watercolour pencils
and added Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist
in creme de rouge,
there's Gold Flame Smooch inside the flowers,
Stickles in Waterfall and Diamond,
used my Sakura gel pen for some white dots,
hemp rope, the flowers (daisies) are Prima,
the ladybug is a button from Michaels,
the name of the manufacturer escapes me.
And of course, I've used this gorgeous sketch,
which I gave a little fliparoo to:

Thanks for visiting today,
your thoughts and time are much appreciated!!!

MMSC14 helps make a charmingly winterized giftbag

Hello to you!!
I have had an extra day off this week,
so guess what that means??
Well, not easy crafting,
if that's what you thought I'd say,
but I managed to weasel some time in,
toddler tantrums and all.
Maybe that's why all my projects take a good
4 hours or more to complete,
"Put it down!! Don't touch that!!
Get back here with my tape!!"

I have used Lauren's template
that Stampavie let us use during their last challenge,
the stamp is from Stampavie-Cuddling,
coloured with watercolour pencils,
snowflakes are Inkadinkado and stamped
with Ranger Distress Weathered Wood ink,
papers are My Minds Eye,
used my trusty Fiskars colonial edgers,
the rest is stuff from my stash.

I've had another run in with the
right elements falling into place.
This adorable bag, this lovely stamp,
the perfect package for some delicious cocoa!!
Will be making these for the Holiday season.
I am going to buy the delectable Land O Lakes cocoa
in bulk instead of single packets though ;)
Save some money, I likes to save money
(so I can then buy more stamps with it, lol!!)

Combining challenges can be habit-forming...
Here's where I will be entering my creation:

CaardvarksWinter Wonderland
DutchDare Card ChallengeChristmas In August
Simon Says ChallengeAnything but a card
Creative Inspirations Gift!!(Bag, boxes, etc.)
Stamp Something Charmed Somethings
Lily of the Valley Challenge So Charming
Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge A sketch by Sue

There are so many AMAZING samples
from each of these DT's,
I hope that you can take a look!!
I am wondering how I can get a hold of some
Lily of the Valley stamps here in the states,
I think I will be emailing them to
ask about international shipping,
as they have certainly tempted my pallette!!

*****************

And for those of you who are still with me,
I have a little sneaky peaky for you!!

Come see me tomorrow,
as I have something fun to share with you all!!

Take Care and enjoy the rest of your week!!
I appreciate your time and love to read your feedback,
so please feel welcome to leave me your thoughts.

Flower Flurry Furry Focal Point

Hello to you!!!
I have a lovely project to share with you today.
I was looking for some new challenges
and new ideas and I came across Create4Fun
who are letting us use this adorable heart bag template
Hope you'll take a look at this challenge,
it was absolutely FUN!!!

In keeping with the new-to-me challenges,
I will also be playing with
PaperPlay Challenges
whose theme this week is
Creatures Great and Small.
Well, I do love me some critters,
and this stamp, although kitty is small,
is showcasing kitty.
In so many of Sarah Kay's wonderful images,
kitty is in the scene, walking, watching, playing,
and when Stampavie released this image
where kitty is front and center,
it spoke to me.
I love kitties, they are trusty companions,
and always seem to show up when you are down,
LOVE this image, and I think,
although kitty is small,
it is the focal point of this image.

I am hoping that I can get this typed up fast enough
to make the cut-off over at
A Spoon Full of Sugar
where the challenge this week is
Floral Fantasy.
I enjoy trying to place an image
into the movement of the paper,
I think the floral flurry will qualify for the challenge...

A bit about the card,
Prima Flowers, which are Glimmer misted,
Sarah Kay Stampavie image
coloured with watercolour pencils,
paper is K & Company and fibers are Basic Grey,
and my beloved Inkadinkado Brenda Walton
clear sentiments have been used here also.

Thanks for looking,
enjoy your day!!

That's one orange kitty!!

Hello to you!!!
I hope you are enjoying your weekend so far.
I have not had much time to play this week,
the kids, oh geez, and my hubby
has been home this week due to an eye injury.
As much as I love him and feel bad for him,
that bump on the couch that leaves a trail
wherever it goes (aka hubby)
is grating on my patience.
So, 4 kids instead of 3 this week.
Alas, he is feeling better,
so he went to work, and what do you know,
I have a card to share, lol.

I got my new bundle of goodies
that I ordered from Simon Says Stamps
this week and have been trying
to get into them, but man,
no one wants to let me have a moment
with my new treasures!!
As you can see,
I ordered my first Magnolia stamp,
which is making it's debut today!!
Now I know what all the fuss is about,
Tilda is absolutely FUN to bring to life.
I have to confess to piecing several outfits
for her just because.
Okay, so maybe THAT'S got more to do with
low project production than anything else,
but it's part of the learning process, lol.
I thought it would be appropriate to enter
my card into this weeks
Simon Says Challenge,
Buttons and Ribbons,
as the majority of the items used
are from their store!!

With times as tight as they are,
and an ever-growing wishlist as long as I am tall,
I shop around for good prices and promotions,
when I filled up my basket at
Simon Says Stamps
I did so KNOWING that the items are priced fairly,
and the range of items is hard to top.
One stop shopping for any of your new
modern day crafty "needs,"
and get this, fellow penny pinchers,
free shipping after you spend $60!!
I'm sold!!

I had been holding out on this fortnights
Colour Create Challenge
which is pink, green and orange,
with the extra add-in of including hearts,
so I could use this stamp for it.
Tilda's shirt, booties, and hair ribbon
have been pieced with a page from
K & Company Doll House
which is covered in hearts,
the rest of the papers are Basic Grey.
Buttons are BG, ribbon is from stash,
coloured in watercolours,
faux stitching with a white Sakura gel pen.
Distressed in antique linen,
tattered rose, and frayed burlap.
Sentiment is from the wondrous Inkadinkado
Brenda Walton clear set.
My image has 4 layers of piecing,
the noticeably raised areas were
made that way with the help of foam mounts.

When I saw this sketch,
my project came together!!
Delicious Diva Challenges
is a new challenge blog,
that whilst "stalking" the wonderful
Kellie Winnell,
I noticed she and Delicious Diva Kristy
are launching something fun for us to play in.
Go and take a peek.
You have until August 17th to play!!

Well, if you just skimmed to the bottom
of this rather lengthy post,
I understand completely!!
Enjoy the rest of your weekend and
thank you for stopping by!!

Cowgirl Ava giddy-ups onto a birthday card

Hello to you!!!
I have to be sorta sneaky about this post,
because although I made the card
right in front of her face,
I told my stepdaughter that it was
for someone else!!
She can read though, so if she happens by,
the cat will be out of the bag!!
Her 9th birthday is right around the corner,
and she loves horses, so when I bought
these images, which you can read more about
further down the post,
I had her birthday card in mind.

I've made this card for 2 challenges,
although I think I missed the cut-off at CC.
Charisma Cardz Challenge
has a sketch by Joanne
and
The Pink Elephant
has a recipe:
3 brads, 1 flower and 1 designer paper.

The pic has a shadow over it,
but I was having trouble editing,
so shadowy pic it is!!

Pink Cat Studios has designed The Weiman Wranglers digital stamps to honor the life of little Ethan Weiman and raise money for the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Illinois. You can learn more about little Ethan HERE.
Although the fundraiser is now over, you may still be interested in the looking at what this gracious company has done to help a worthy cause.

The DP is Creative Imaginations,
the rope is hemp, the heart is craft cardstock,
I've coloured with watercolours and
distressed with frayed burlap and worn lipstick.
The flower is Prima and the brads are ???
missing their label!!!

Thanks for looking,
enjoy the rest of your week!!

Cutie patootie treat bag

Hello everyone,
Hope you are settling into your Monday.
I finished this bag last night,
but had to wait til daylight
to take some pictures.

I've made it to play along with the
Stampavie Challenge #9
a bag by Lauren.
The template can be found on
Lauren's blog.
I love it, so easy but effective!!
I don't have any fancy artillery,
let alone, essentials,
I used a ruler and a knitting needle to score
the paper and it worked out just fine,
so don't be discouraged from checking this
fortnights challenge out because you
don't have all the designer duds.
I don't even have a hole punch,
so those GIGANTIC handle holes you see,
well, they are a Stephanne original, lol.
I think this template is going to be
a mainstay for me, as it is really
a cute little something, and I LOVE
cute little somethings ;)

Now, I knew I wanted to play along,
but was having a hard time coming to a decision
on image and theme, alas, this week over at
Stamp Something Challenge Blog
the challenge is paper piecing,
and this little Rachelle Anne Miller image
screams out, "Piece Me!!!!"
So thank you, Stamp Something,
for helping me make some decisions.

Two angles so hopefully you can see the piecing.
Their patches (nose, tummies, feet, etc.)
have been pieced with Basic Grey Blush papers,
the same paper as the bag,
and the image has been layered,
the heads toled and popped with foam mounts,
arms tucked and adhered as the outermost layer.
They are sitting on a flower from the same paper,
used my watercolours,
added some doodling, put some Stickles here and there,
some Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist
and Sakura gel pen doodles too,
and that's pretty much it.
I didn't feel like the paper should be covered,
(that's why I've had it for 2 years
just sitting there,
I admire it every now and then...)
so I added the image into the movement of the design.

Thanks for stopping by,
hope you'll leave me your thoughts.
Enjoy the rest of your week!!

Edited: swapped out duplicate pic. What is wrong with me??

Passing out some awards today

Hello out there!!
I have been a naughty blogger
and have been sitting on these awards since I got them.
I went by and retrieved them,
but never passed the torch,
so today is the day.

The lovely Heather sent this one
my way a while back and I'd like to pass it on to:
Sue
Tracey
and
Julia

If you haven't gone by and visited Rica's Haven,
I STRONGLY suggest that you do,
but make sure you have a spare hour or two
because you are going to get lost in her creativity.

And this award is from Sue
who always has such lovely projects
and great how-to's for us, you must go and visit
Sue's Rubber Stamping Adventure
but my warning here is no different than the aforementioned,
make sure you have some spare time,
because her blog is an adventure, indeed!!

I would like to pass this on to:
Heather,
whose works have kept me
in awww since my first fiddlings in Blogland, and
Tracey
who has a gift for the ever-troubling masculine cards,
and whips up the most lovely wedding cards,
you must pay her a visit!!
I would like to pass it right back
to Sue, but I don't think that is the
name of the game, lol.

Phew!!! That wasn't so tough after all.....

And now, for a bit of breaking news.
Stampavie
has announced who their latest
Design Team members will be,
yes, MEMBERS,
they chose 3 people instead of 1,
and guess what?!?!?!?
Drum roll please........
They forgot to put my name on there....
Yeah.......
Wait, let me double-check.
No, it's not on there...
So congrats to the new teamies.
I look forward to seeing your designs.

Enjoy the remaining tidbits of your weekend,
Stephanne

Stop and smell the mousies

Hello to you!!
There is a fabulous sketch over at
House Mouse Monday Challenge
and I have squeezed out an entry,
much to the protest of my tot.
This has taken so long to make
that I haven't got much juice left
to give you interesting dialect :(

About the card, coloured with distress inks,
what an undertaking!!!
Sentiment from Stampabilities,
Tattered Angels glimmer mist in my image
and Martha Stewart punch,
K & Company papers, Prima flowers and stamen,
Kaiser pearls, everything else is from the stash.
Yes, I can officially say I have one, lol.

And here is the sketch.
Go have a look at the gorgeousness
the design team has made this week,
glorious as usual!!

Thanks for stopping by,
enjoy your weekend!!
Stephanne

Edited: Swapped piccies for edited pics, better clarity
